Butch Vig, born Bryan Vigorson, is one of the most famous music producers of the 1990's rock scene. He produced some of the most influential albums of the decade, such as "Nevermind" by Nirvana, and of course, "Gish" and "Siamese Dream" by the Smashing Pumpkins. He also produced the Pumpkins appearance on Sub Pop, with their Tristessa single in 1990. In 1994, Butch formed Garbage along with singer Shirley Manson, guitarist Steve Marker (with whom Butch co-owns Smart Recording Studios), and guitarist/bassist Duke Erikson.
