One of the most common and well-known guitars in the world, along with the Fender Strat and Telecaster, the Gibson LP was co-designed by Gibson president Ted McCarty with guitarist Les Paul, and was first sold in 1952. The body is a generally a single-cutaway, although some double-cutaway Special and SG models exist. Jeff has a number of LPs.

On the 2011 "The Other Side of the Kaleidyscope" tour, Jeff used 2 LPs: one black w/ black pickguard for Window Paine, Lightning Strikes, Some, Siva, and Pissant; and one black w/ white pickguard for E-flat tuned songs Geek USA, Muzzle, Ruby, Cherub Rock, and Bullet.
